No Network Driver After Windows 10 Update

Post by Sandy1991 »

Hello everyone,

After updating my Windows 10 to the latest version, I realized that my network driver is missing. I've tried troubleshooting and updating the driver through Device Manager, but it couldn't find any suitable driver for my network adapter.

I have an HP Pavilion laptop with a Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller network adapter. I have searched on the official HP support website for the specific driver, but unfortunately, they only provide drivers up to Windows 8.1.

I've also tried searching for the driver on the Realtek website, but their driver search tool requires a specific model number, which I couldn't find anywhere on my laptop or in the device's properties.

Does anyone know where I can find the appropriate driver for my Realtek network adapter to work with Windows 10? Many thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Troubleshooting Questions and Answers:

1. Question: Why is my device not connecting to the network after a Windows 10 update?
Answer: After a Windows 10 update, it is common for network drivers to become outdated or incompatible. Try updating the network driver by going to Device Manager, locating the network adapter, right-clicking it, and selecting "Update driver."

2. Question: The network connection keeps dropping on my device, what can I do?
Answer: Network connection issues can be caused by interference or signal strength problems. Try moving closer to the Wi-Fi router, ensuring there are no physical obstructions, or changing the Wi-Fi channel. You can also try resetting the router or updating its firmware.

3. Question: My device is not detecting any available Wi-Fi networks, what should I do?
Answer: Start by checking if the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled. Go to Control Panel, select Network and Sharing Center, and click on Change adapter settings. Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and ensure it is enabled. If it is already enabled, try restarting the device or updating the Wi-Fi driver through Device Manager.
